Keep It Tight, 2023

materials - liquid latex, steel, metal chain, dye, staples, wire, glue.

The ‘specimen’ here is stretched by thick metal chains anchored to a steel frame; tense and taught, but not yet ripping. The contrasting materials here are a nod to the feminine and masculine but also the organic and industrial, the body and the dissection tray. The stretching and piercing of this body part seems barbaric but acts as a physical representation of the intangibility, but very real brewing of female rage.

The skin is surprisingly resilient; the supposedly fragile material remains, for now; intact.
